It is produced by FremantleMedia Australia and screens on Network Ten. Food critic Matt Preston, chef George Calombaris, and restaurateur and chef Gary Mehigan serve as the show's hosts and judges. The first season was presented by journalist Sarah Wilson; her role was dropped in subsequent seasons. The first episode aired on 27 April 2009, and the season one finale was broadcast on 19 July 2009. The first Australian MasterChef was Julie Goodwin, a 38 year old I.T. office manager. Season 2 of MasterChef Australia premiered on Monday April 19th, at 7.30pm. The second season will air through the week at 7.30, half an hour later than the successful timeslot of 7pm enjoyed by the show in Season 1. A celebrity spin-off, Celebrity MasterChef Australia, began airing from 30 September 2009. Another spin-off, Junior MasterChef Australia, is also expected to air in 2010.

Australia is about Edouard Pierson, a Belgian-born wool dealer who emigrated to Australia after World War Two. The movie actual takes place in Belgium as he returns to his homeland to assist his family with their wool business. Edouard was left a single father after his girlfriend died and when he goes to moxia.cc Belgium he leaves behind this young girl, whom his family don't know about. He meets a beautiful woman, Jeanne, another single parent, and an intense relationship develops. Edouard's relationship with his family has its ups and downs and many secrets are revealed before the movie's conclusion ties everything together.
